Network Licensing Creation
The network license service authorizes and controls access to shared licenses on a network. The license for the network license service itself is created in a similar way a local license is created as described in License Creation, to properly configure a network license you must add a MAC address lock and a Feature lock.
Hardware Locking
The network license is hardware locked, this will ensure only one network license can run within the network. Hardware locking can be achieved by adding a MAC address lock.
Feature Lock
A network license is a feature based license. A feature based license limits the product functionality to a certain subset of available features as declared in the license. Each product feature is associated with a feature count that limits the number of concurrently running instances of the protected software that use a product feature. Product features are defined by adding a Feature lock.
Installing a Network License
The network license service reads the network license file from its application folder. To install a network license file:
- Create a network license as described in License Creation.
- Save the license to a file.
- Copy the file to the Network License Service application folder.
